Storm fall to Bandits, NWJHL playoffs continue

Sexsmith native and former Grande Prairie Storm Carter Wolski scored once against his former team, as the Brooks Bandits beat the Storm 5-1 on Friday night. 

Edouard Michard scored his 34th of the season for the Storm, who were out shot 44-20 on the night. 

The loss dropped the Storm to 24-26-3 on the season.

They will visit Whitecourt on Monday afternoon.

 

 

The North Peace Navigators and Dawson Creek Junior Canucks are both one win away from the second round of the NWJHL playoffs.

Calvin Sanders scored four times while Davis Rose had a goal and five assists as the Navigators rolled past Beaverlodge 12-2 on Friday night. 

Mark Simpson added three goals for the Navigators, who will look for the series sweep Sunday afternoon in Peace River. 

Meanwhile the Canucks edged Sexsmith 4-3 on Friday to go up 2-0 in their best of five series. 

Game three in that series is also Sunday afternoon in Dawson Creek. 

Tonight, the County of Grande Prairie JDA Kings host Fairview in game two of their series, with the Kings holding a 1-0 lead.
