The Eastlink Centre Triathlon is a Triathlon Alberta sanctioned event and all athletes must have a Triathlon Alberta membership to participate. Triathlon Alberta day memberships cost $20 for adults and $15 per athlete in a team and can be added to your cart during Eastlink Centre Triathlon registration. The highly anticipated Piranhas Northern Lights Invitational Swim Meet takes place Friday May 3 to Sunday, May 5 at Eastlink Centre Grande Prairie. Aquatics remains open with Limited Public Swim times with the following amenity impacts:   Friday, May 3: Long course lane swim available from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Diving boards unavailable all day. 50-metre pool and FlowRider unavailable from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m.   Saturday, May 4: Diving boards, 50-metre pool and FlowRider unavailable all day.   Sunday, May 5: Diving boards unavailable all day. 50-metre pool and FlowRider unavailable from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The dive tank will remain closed until 9 a.m. on Monday, May 6. RBC Training Ground is a talent identification and athlete funding program designed to find young athletes with Olympic potential, and provide them with the resources they need to achieve their podium dreams. With the belief that high performance sports should be accessible to all athletes that are talented, qualified and have the will to compete, this program travels the country searching for athletes between the ages of 14 and 25 that will fuel the Canadian Olympic pipeline.

Featuring Olympic silver medalist and the first First Nations hockey player to be named to Canada's National Women's Team, Brigette Lacquette. Wednesday, May 8 at Doors open at 5pm at St. Joe's High School. Program 5:30-7pm. Leading international education charity Classroom Champions, in partnership with the City of Grande Prairie and the National Aboriginal Hockey Championships, is facilitating a powerful community-wide event featuring Olympic silver medalist and the first First Nations hockey player to be named to Canada's National Women's Team, Brigette Lacquette. St Joseph’s High School will open its doors to up to 1,300 local students, teachers and families, as well as Indigenous athletes from across Canada competing in the National Aboriginal Hockey Championships, to hear from Lacquette and community leaders to address important themes facing youth. The speaking event will be followed by an opportunity to take photos with Brigette. Join us at the Community Knowledge Campus near Eastlink Centre on Friday, May 10th as the students from all 3 local school districts play ball hockey and soccer, as a fundraiser for ill children in our region. There will be lots of activities. The entire community is invited!
